Brian Schultz
MAPC President
Vice President, Mechanical Division – Plumbing, Hooper Corporation

Brian Schultz is the Vice President of the Mechanicals Division-Plumbing at Hooper Corporation, and was appointed to President of Madison Association of Plumbing Contractors in 2023.  Schultz is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and has over 25 years of experience in the plumbing field.  He became the Plumbing Department Head of Hooper Corporation in April of 2013.  Schultz was then promoted to Vice President of the company in January of 2017.

Chris Behrendt
MAPC Vice President
P.E., General Manager, J. F. Ahern Co.

Chris Behrendt is a P.E., General Manager at J. F. Ahern Co., and was appointed to Vice President of Madison Association of Plumbing Contractors in 2023.  Behrendt is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and he has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry.  Behrendt has been the General Manager of J. F. Ahern Co. since 2021, and with the company since 2005.

Tory Miller
MAPC Secretary/Treasurer
Co-Owner and Vice President, 1901 Inc.

Tory Miller is a Vice President at 1901 Inc., and was appointed to Secretary/Treasurer of Madison Association of Plumbing Contractors in 2023.  Miller has over 20 years of experience designing and managing plumbing projects following his graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.  He joined 1901 Inc. as a Project Manager in December 2018, and was promoted to his current role of Vice President in January 2020.  In February 2024, Miller became a co-owner of the company.

Legacy Award

The MSC/MAPC Lifetime Achievement Award, or Legacy Award, was created to recognize and promote Contractor Members who have made significant contributions to the plumbing, mechanical or sheet metal industries.  It is bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated a long history of service and dedication to the Madison Association.

  • Dean Burkard

    Working his way up the corporate ladder during his 29 year career at Hooper Corporation, Dean started out as a plumbing apprentice and retired as a Vice President. His dedication and leadership to MAPC and the plumbing industry was shown through his service on MAPC Committees, Trusts, and Boards. Dean is also part of a multi-generation family of employees as his father worked at Hooper in the 1940s and later his son, Don, joined the Mechanical Division in 2007.

  • Robert Pertzborn

    For over 28 years, Robert was an influential member of MAPC. A third generation plumber and President of his family-owned business, Robert’s dedication, leadership, and service were instrumental in carrying out the objectives of the industry. His sons have also carried on the family’s legacy as his son, Joe, is the current President of the company and heading the Fire Protection division and his son, Jesse, is the Vice President and running the Plumbing division.

  • Larry Schultz

    Starting out as a plumbing apprentice at Hooper Corporation, Larry rose through the ranks to become partner and Vice President of the plumbing department. Throughout his 40-years at Hooper, Larry was integral in the plumbing negotiations for the Association. With his children continuing the tradition, they now have become the third generation of family to work in the construction industry. Larry‘s dad was in the plumbing trade, and his son Brian is currently Hooper’s Vice President, Mechanicals Division - Plumbing and the MAPC President.

History of MAPC

The Madison Association of Plumbing Contractors, Inc. (MAPC) was founded in Madison, Wisconsin in 1946. The founding objectives to promote a strong and professional image that is dedicated to the promotion, advancement, education and training of the industry for the protection of our environment and health, safety and comfort of society remain driving forces and are still relevant today.
